Getting to & from the airport — the local way
Sydney is close to the city but the roads are busy and the train charges an airport access fee. Here's the honest rundown:

The three terminals & getting between them
Sydney runs three terminals, and they're not all together:
- T1 — International, on the northern side of the airfield (all international flights, plus some Jetstar/Qantas international).
- T2 — Domestic, on the southern side (Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Rex and regional carriers).
- T3 — Domestic, next to T2 (Qantas domestic).
T2 and T3 are a short walk apart, but T1 is on the opposite side of the runways — about 4 km away by road.
Transferring between International and Domestic
The quickest link is the Airport Link train between the T1 and Domestic stations — around two minutes, with a fare payable. Road transfers and shuttle services also run between the two sides. Allow a comfortable buffer for the change.
If you're connecting international-to-domestic (or vice versa), leave at least 60–90 minutes once you factor in immigration, baggage and crossing to the other side. For a smooth change with bags, a pre-booked car between terminals is the calmest option.

Parking at Sydney Airport
Parking is available at all three terminals, for every trip length. As a rough guide:
- Short-term / premium — right at the terminals, best for quick pick-ups and drop-offs, priced by the half-hour.
- Long-term / value — cheaper daily rates (the value lots at the Domestic terminals) with a shuttle to the terminal.
- Pre-book online — Sydney's drive-up parking is expensive; booking ahead saves a lot.
