Sunshine Coast Airport is located at Marcoola, on the northern Sunshine Coast, approximately 10 km north of Maroochydore and 40 km south of Noosa Heads. It operates as a regional airport with a compact, single-terminal layout that is easy to navigate.
The airport was significantly expanded in 2020 with a new terminal building. Despite its growth, it retains the low-stress, uncrowded atmosphere that regional airports are known for — a pleasant contrast to the major capital city airports.
